EMGP Race 1 - Silverstone 10k Race Report

The first race of the 2026 EMGP took place at Silverstone Race Circuit on Wednesday 6th May, the event had 1700 runners attending, as for DRR we had a fantastic turnout of 34 members which was great to see for a EMGP race.

We also had a large number of members attending to support the team and cheer everyone on, special thanks to Tracy Bax, Debs Sach, Samantha Hall, Deneale Czora & the baby girls, Shell Davies, Daarek Sach and finally Steve Brooks who took some fantastic photographs to capture the evenings events for our socials and website, thanks to everyone we really appreciate it.

It was great to see every member running giving the race their all, we had several members who achieved PB’s, well done to Jayne Kilsby who beat her long standing PB, well done Jayne, other PB’s on the night for Rachel Owen, Sammy Martin, Andy Bailey, Iain Bazeley, Steve Slyne, Atti Middleton, Luckson Ravinthiran, David Adam’s and Jon Birch.

Other members who had great runs on the night closely missing out on their PB’s, Sarah Young, Kate Bond, Hannah Barnes, Sarah Oxley, Rien Sach, John Sach, Ben Rolfe and Dan Clarke.

We as a club are here to support our members and help them develop, races like these, whilst they may be daunting, are very good for runner development and they will help build confidence in yourself and even though you might not think it, they are good fun, honestly...
