Mental Health and Wellbeing

As well as the enjoyment of running and improving your fitness, Daventry Road Runners is very sociable and friendly club – a place to let off some steam and get away from some of the stresses of every day life. As such we are committed to looking after the mental health and wellbeing of all our members.

Mental health problems affect one in four people and yet some of us are still afraid to talk about it. We want to change that.

Daventry Road Runners is part of the England Athletics #RunAndTalk programme. Our Club Welfare Officers (Sharon and Shelley) are also Mental Health Champions and are here to support people to access the wellbeing benefits of running, remove stigma and get everyone talking about mental health.

They are offering #WalkAndTalk and #RunAndTalk sessions, designed to encourage and promote conversations about mental health whilst also enjoying the benefits of exercise, getting out in the fresh air and having some social interaction.

If you need to talk or you are interested in any of the sessions, please contact welfare.drr@gmail.com
