DRR Parkrun Report 22/02/20

With Daventry parkrun being cancelled for two weeks (22/02/20 & 29/02/20) due to ongoing repairs and weather, this gave members of Daventry Road Runners a great opportunity to tourist – and tourist they did. In total we had 24 parkrunners at 8 different events. Sixfields Upton was our most popular tourist destination, with 14 DRR members taking part in the event that marked their 2 year anniversary as a parkrun location. Daniel Clarke and Rebecca Wheaver took part in Coventry parkrun's 500th event, whilst our other members visited Leamington, Rugby, Milton Keynes, Market Harborough, and Salcey Forest. However, it was Angela Devlin who was the furthest travelling member, as she completed Greenock parkrun in Scotland.

Special mentions go to Sharon Packer, David Packer, John Sach, Jon Nicholson, Ti Aigoro, Paul Barker, for all achieving personal bests at their respective events. Whilst Des Pratt, Daniel Kenward, Rebecca Wheaver, Daniel Clarke, Steve Brooks, Ian Smedley, Andrew Hall, and Wayne Byles all completed their first run at a new parkrun location.

This Saturday's parkrun is a bit of a special occasion... Saturday 29th February - a leap year day parkrun. It's the first time Feb 29th has fallen on a Saturday since before parkrun began, and the next time will be 2048, so if you can help it, do not miss out!
