Welcome to Daventry Road Runners
Daventry Road Runners are a friendly, all-inclusive running club based in Daventry, Northamptonshire and have been around in our modern form for about twenty years. We’re very much a community club offering training sessions and coaching in a safe and supportive environment.
We love to welcome new runners of all ages and abilities and currently have over 100 members. So, whether you’re chasing a new personal best, looking to improve your fitness or would just like to enjoy the social aspect, then you’ve come to the right place.
Our main club nights are Tuesday and Thursday evenings, which offer a variety of sessions including interval training, hill repeats, group paced runs and more, all organised by our qualified run leaders. We also offer additional off-road trail runs, track sessions and regular social activities for members, including club breakfasts, evenings out as well as social runs. Feel free to try us out for up to four club run sessions before joining.

Meet your Committee
Daniel Clarke
Club Chairman
This is Daniel's fourth year as Club Chairman and it's hard to find anyone more passionate or enthusiastic about the club. One of, if not the fastest runner in the club, he leads by example. In fact, the only thing he loves more than running, is cake!
Becky Wheaver
Club Secretary
Club secretary and run leader, Becky is a keen runner and triathlete. She's at parkrun every weekend without fail, usually followed by a delicious afternoon tea. Becky also has the unenviable task of trying to organise Daniel.
Nadine Gray
Treasurer
As well as being club treasurer, Nadine is also our mad marathoner. On a mission to join the 100 marathon club, she's entering every long distance event she can find. And when not running herself, she's also one of our run leaders.
Stuart Clarke
Web Master
Never seen without a smile on his face, Stuart is a bit of a fair weather runner. If it's cold, wet or early in the morning, you'll rarely see him. He is renowned for his lightning fast first mile, which is inevitably followed by a walk and a breather in mile two.
John Sach
Membership Secretary
John joined the club a couple of years ago and often enjoys a local parkrun with his whole family. Another one of our fantastic run leaders, John has also taken on the responsibility of membership secretary this year.
Phil Bear
Run Leader Coordinator
If you've not heard of the infamous Phil's Hills, where have you been! Phil loves to torture us all with his gruelling hill sessions, even sneaking the odd incline into the social runs and has now taken over as run leader coordinator.
David Packer
Club Ready Coordinator
In addition to being a run leader, David has been pivotal in organising and running our Club Ready programme, welcoming lots of new runners to the club. Like a fine wine, he's getting better with age, proving you can still improve even after retirement.

Social Secretary
We are currently looking for someone to fill the role of Social Secretary. This position is responsible for organising the Club Awards Night, Christmas Meal and other social events throughout the year.
Debs Sach
Welfare Officer
Debs is one of the club's biggest supporters – always on hand to take a pre-race photo and cheer everyone through the finish line. This year Debs has very kindly taken the role of welfare officer in a non-committee capacity.

Wellfare Officer
We are on the lookout for a second welfare officer to work alongside Debs. This role comes with a committee

Toby Turk
General Committee
Toby joined Daventry Road Runners during lockdown a few years ago. Since then he's represented the club at almost every distance, including Endure24 and his first ultra marathon back in April this year.
Denise Hackett
Social Media Secretary
Denise is another long-standing club member and has been on the committee for a few of years now. A fantastic runner, Denise always gives it her all at every event.
Jack De Bokx
General Committee
Jack has recently joined the committee as a general member. Jack, who also coaches at Rugby Triathlon Club brings a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Derek Monroe
Race Director
Derek has returned to his role of Race Director, a position he previously had back in 2021, when he was responsible for delivering a very successful Daventry 10K event. Derek is known for his quick wit and Irish charm.
